Are you interested in trying something new to the market? Jenny Pedigo of Sew Kind of Wonderful has designed a ruler called the Quick Curve Ruler. Over a year ago Jenny discovered how a simple curve shape could make so many different quilt designs and so the Quick Curve Ruler was developed.
Jenny has designed six fabulous patterns using her ruler as well as one free pattern which you can find on her blog. Here are a couple of her quilt designs:
Jenny has produced up 3 helpful videos on how to use the ruler which you can find on her blog.
Jenny and I are looking for ten willing volunteers to try out her ruler and see what they can come up with. If you would be interested in trying out the ruler, taking some photos of what you have made for the Fat Quarterly blog and writing up a blogpost or tutorial on what you made, please leave a comment below and Jenny and I will pick ten volunteers and mail them the ruler.
Why yes, I do fancy throwing some curves into the mix with my quilting. I’d love to volunteer. Ideas abound already.
Curvy sewing looks like so much fun! I have some fabric that would work perfect with the Quick Curve Ruler! I’m your volunteer.

Looks like fun! I have the fabrics chosen already…
I have a couple of ideas, I’d be happy to try out.
Now I’m no longer scared of the curves, I would love to give some more a go.
Here’s to your ruler and patterns being a HUGE success Jenny – it’s been great following your blog and seeing each new design develop, grow and transform, by the time the quilting is complete. How can a simple shape be so versatile, just amazes me – you know I look forward to seeing more and more quilts made using this ruler and your intuitive concept
I love that Urban Abacus quilt, what a clever lady. I’d love to have a go, I ahve a stash of fabrics I ought to do something with!
wow! what fun designs this creates.
i’m new to quilting so i’m not sure if i ‘qualify’. I just completed my first quilt and I’m starting another (well, to be honest, a couple others). I’d love to participate if you are looking for a ‘beginner’ quilter to try it out!
i blog over at inspiredbycharm.com and would be happy to share my experience with the ruler with my readers as well.
if you are looking for folks with more experience, i completely understand. Just wanted to throw my name ‘in the hat’ anyway. Thanks so much!!
I’d love to try it out a curved ruler – I have years of sewing experience but I am a new quilter so I could have fresh perspective.
Me, me, me please.
I’m all about curves at the moment.
I’d love to try this out–I can think of several interesting things to do with it!
Very cool, I would love to do some experimenting with the new ruler!

oooh!! i would love to try out the ruler! that’s very cool, especially the Urban Candy design – wouldn’t it be fabulous in scrappy fabrics?
my guild had a demo about sewing curves last week, and i was amazed by how many people were so scared of them. really? curves are awesome! i sewed clothes for years before i started quilting, so to me, it’s just like setting in a sleeve. kinda fiddly, but SO worth the results!
thanks so much for this opportunity, regardless of who you choose!
I would love to try out this ruler. Curved piecing and circles have become one of my favourite techniques and I’m always looking for new twists on techniques that I love. I especially love something with a little extra challenge.
I’d be game to try out something small. I.e. not a full quilt. I have ideas!
Uh, I would very much like to try that out! I have been admiring Jenny’s designs for weeks now!
Yes, I’d love to give curves a go! The quilts look lovely!
I’d love to give it a try!

Great quilts, thanks for the chance!
Sounds exciting! Going on quilt retreat in Feb. and could knock out a knock out! Photos not a problem, but tutorials are harder to write than one thinks. My enthusiasm abounds…..
I’d be super excited to play with the ruler and come up with a neat design!
I love sewing with curves! This looks fun.
What a fun challenge! So far I pieced only curves using die cut fabrics, so it would be awesome to try a fancy ruler like this!
Love your designs! I would enjoy trying out the ruler and seeing how it works and what can be done with that particular curve. I’m not new to curves but will admit to not being the best photographer out there. If you need awesome photo’s you won’t want to pick me!
I blog at http://cindysdaisydays.blogspot.com/
I love a good challenge. I would love to make a curvalicious quilt with the quick curve ruler.
This looks fun. I’m always up for trying a new design or tool. I’d love to give it a go.
Jenny’s ruler is the best invention. It’s opening so many doors those of us who were afraid of curves. I’d love to play.
Yes, I would enjoy a curvy challenge. Thinking about some scrappy, curvy fun.
Lucky 41st?
I’ve never done curves and I’ve never used a specialised ruler so I’d definitely be interested in the challenge!
I’m really quite keen on curves and would love to give a new template a try!
Okay, I tried to reply to Jenny’s tweet but twitter is overloaded! I’d love to try out the ruler. What is the deadline?
I wouldn’t mind trying the ruler as well. I am signed up for a curves class on line with Rachel at Stitched in Color. It would be interesting to see how her methods compare to the use of the ruler.
I would love to give this ruler a try, it looks like great fun. There are so many possibilities with curves and I love them.
I have never tried curves before but have been following Jenny’s blog and love her designs. I would be thrilled to try her ruler from the prespective of a true beginner
Pick me! Choose me! Love me!
I’m all about sewing up a sample and trying that ruler out. It’s been on my list of “one day soon” purchases… I’d love to try it out!
One of my 2012 resolutions is to actually try curved piecing and I LOVE that quilt at the top — and not just because it’s in AMH innocent crush! I’d love to try it out and blog about it! Thanks for the chance!
I’m totally into curves right now. Deeply actually. I’ve been admiring her quilts and I’d love to try making something curved using a template by someone else. I love the gentle oval like curve her ruler produces.
Never tried curved quilting, but would love to give it a go; if being international is ok of course.
Hi, I always wanted to try a curvy pattern.
I’m loving urban abacus too. I’d love to try out the ruler. It would make nice scallops for a border as well as applique vines and pieced curves.
Well as many others before me I would love to try this ruler. I wanted to make some projects with curved seems this year.
So if I am lucky I can try it with Jennys quick curve ruler.
My new machine & curves would = awesome
I’m new to quilting. Is this something a beginning (only put together blocks & triangles) quilter could use? If so, I’d LOVE to give it a try!
I would love to try out a new way to play with curves!
I do believe I have some fabric in my stash that is crying out to show off it’s curves.
Oh such a lot of volunteers! I’d love to give it a go…
I’ve always made curved things in what seems like the most laborious way possible! Trying this ruler would be brilliant to simplify things.
Curves scare me, but I’m hoping to conquer this fear. Pick me! Pick me!
Ooh yes please, I’d love to try some curviness.
yes, I would LOVE to try out a curved ruler!
I’m sure I could come up with something nifty; been meaning to give curves a try…
I’d love a chance to try it! I only really blog during the summers since I’m a schoolteacher and found it cut into my schoolwork too much. But I do have an active Flickr stream (user: messygoat) where you can see my stuff. I love to experiment and curves don’t scare me.
pick me! pick me!
I would love to try, feel free to see my crafts and sewing projects…

I would love a chance to get curvy!
I am signed up for Stitched in Color’s curves camp and would love to add trying out the curved ruler!
New year– new technique! My first quilt was a huge double wedding ring quilt and it has been a long time since I have made anything with a curve. It would be great fun to try Jenny’s rulers and the possibilities of easier curves.
I’m currently working on the Urban Pulley Candy Quilt and the ruler is fantastic! Also the curves are not that hard. They go together quite easily, actually! I haven’t pieced the blocks yet but that’s my next step. Jenny is a genius and I’m so glad to see her ruler/patterns taking off.
I’ll send you what I’ve done when I’m finished. What kind of time frame are you looking at for getting back pictures?
eeep! I’d love to try this out! I’ve been wanting to try more curves and I can’t resist a good ruler!
I would love to try out the new ruler! I have some ideas floating round since I first saw it.

I kep going back to look at these
if you still need volunteers (yeah I know) I’d be happy to give it a go!
I am definitely interested in trying out this new ruler. I test drive one new ruler a month on my blog and provide reviews and tutorials for my readers. This month I will be putting up the Lazy Angle Ruler – I would love to try out this new curves ruler!!
That ruler looks amazing. What beautiful designs! I have wanted to tackle some curves, and I think this is just the tool I need to do it.
I just ordered my creative curve ruler. Hooked again!! To top it off I ordered a pattern, too!! I have the pattern – now have to wait for the ruler!! Patience!!
Already planning on making something cute with that ruler! Such a great idea! So glad you decided to share it with the rest of us!
I would LOVE the chance to try out the new ruler. Having fun lately with curves, this tool would open up all kinds of possibilities!
Oh, yes! I have been admiring this since I saw one of the finished quilts on Flickr and have been waiting for the ruler to turn up in a LQS to try out some new ideas….
I love curves and have gotten addicted to them – and it seems all the curved templates and rulers that are out there. I would love to play around with this and see what I could do.
I’m crazy for curves in quilts and patchwork blocks! I’d love to try, please! Hugs from Brazil!
I’m always interested in trying out something new and challenging.
Would love to give this a try – I have drunkard’s path curves down pat, but love this more gentle curving, and can see many possibilities in patterns.
Kind regards,
A
Sign me up! I have a quilt in mind that I’ve been dying to make. Your curved ruler would make it a breeze.
I”m fairly certain that you’ve chosen your ten already… since I”m late to respond and you’ve had a million and a half comments.
But… PICK ME!
I’d love to give the curved ruler a try and I’ve been lusting after those quilts for quite some time. I’d of course be likely to make those curves in miniature tiny strips and lots of color.
Oh I was travelling home yesterday and missed this. I would love to try the curved ruler so if I’m not too late, I would LOVE to have a go!
Yes! I’d love to give this a go! I’ve studied her wonderful new patterns, and have a certain one in mind that I’d love to give a seasonal spin.
I hated ‘em in school, but there’s nothing like an assignment to get my creative juices flowing.
Oh what a cool idea! I would love to be considered for trying out the ruler please! Thanks!
Oh that looks so cool, I’ve been hoping someone would make a curved ruler, it totally appeals to my anal retentive measuring side while still having curves
D
The ruler looks very cool and lots of fun! I’d be game to try it out and write it up. I love a new toy like any good quilter!
I would love to try this ruler. I have pieced Drunkards Path blocks using Nancy Elliot McDonalds two pin technique and I think these curves would be fun also. Thank you for the opportunity. Take care and God bless, Cory.
I would love to try out this curved ruler. It looks like it will make some beautiful things.
I enjoy trying new quilting methods and designs.
Especially challenges provide a super opportunity to try something you might otherwise not have done (at least not yet).
So having been intrigued by the Spools challenge I definitely would love to be included in, learn from and share ideas regarding this one.
Best wishes,
Marielise
