I have petals on the brain at the moment.
I haven’t done much sewing since the arrival of my little boy at the end of March, but all of a sudden I have a head full of ideas – mostly involving tiny petals – so I could think of little else when I saw the canvas.
I lost my sewing space for a while but as I am in the process of re shuffling to house to get a sewing space back I wanted to create something cute to decorate the dull walls of my little loft room. Anyone who knows me knows that I love Heather Bailey fabrics and the size of the little motifs were perfect for fussy cut petals.
I drew the shapes on a fusible interfacing (to give a better base for the fabrics and to avoid the glue seeping through), cut them out roughly, ironed them onto the back of the fabric and cut them out. I glued them onto the canvas using fabric glue. Simples!
I really enjoyed this challenge and it was a lovely opportunity to do a bit of cuttin’ and stickin’.
