You may have missed the exciting (to me) news that Kerry (from verykerryberry and Sew-Ichigo) and I (Lynne from lilysquilts.blogspot.com) have written a quilting book which comes out in September. It’s called 500 Quilt Blocks and looks like this:
Anyway, the long and the short of this book is that we actually physically made 500 blocks and 20 projects; 250 projects and 10 projects each including one quilt which is possibly my favourite quilt of all time. There are classic blocks, traditional blocks, new blocks, Lynne-type blocks, Kerry-type blocks and everything in between. The ultimate compendium and source of inspiration for all your future projects. Although it will not be out until September, Kerry and I are hoping to be able to bring some advance copies to #fqrlondon in July. Woohoo!
As we are finalising preparations for this year’s Fat Quarterly London Retreat, we thought it would be fun to bring you a giveaway from one of our main sponsors this year, the marvellous Fat Quarter Shop. Chelsey and I went back and forth on what we would like to give away and what we thought you would like to win so decided on a gift certificate. That way you can pick what you would like to win.
As part of our preparations for this year’s Fat Quarterly Retreat, we thought it would be fun to let you know who are our sponsors of the retreat this year. And they are:
Moda, who print so many amazing quilting fabric lines and cut them into so many beautiful pre-cuts that we are all addicted to. Goodies from Moda will be in your goodie bags.
Congratulations to our 2013 Modern Madness champion …

Thank you for your patience as we encountered some technical difficulties getting this posted. The madness continues as we approach the end of another amazing season of modern fabric …

Free pattern for this Stars and Stripes quilt (designed by Lynne and made from the most beautiful fabric line – Indigo Crossing by Minnick and Simpson for Moda) coming soon to the Fat Quarterly blog.
Feel free to say how much you like this quilt as I am very proud of it. It makes me feel like I’m a cowboy living in the Wild West corralling and lasso-ing livestock and singing country songs.
