When we launched our first ever Readers’ Competition back in January, we were hoping that maybe a few readers would submit their projects made from Fat Quarterly patterns. We never expected to receive so many fantastic entries! We were truly blown away by the beauty and creativity of each and every entry. BIG thanks to everyone who shared their work with us.
We broke the competition down into two categories: quilts, and other project types. Here are the 12 entries we received for the quilt category:
Top row (left to right): Jewel Box by Doe, Sanctuary by Johanna, Fall equinox by Lee, Mini Bob by Shruti
Middle row (left to right): Rooted by Annie, Sanctuary by Linda, Little Folks Sanctuary by Liz, Jewel Box by Cindy
Bottom row (left to right): Urban Circus by Judith, Fat Geese by Dana, Crazy patchwork by Jo, windowpane by Linda
And here are the 20 fabulous entries in the “other projects” category:
Row 1 (left to right): Cabbage Bag by Judith, Tree Skirt by Dana, Flying Fish Table Runner by Krista, Merrylegs by Jennifer, Utility Apron by Terri
Row 2 (left to right): Circular Logic by Janet, Utility Apron by Shruti, Hex bath mat by Karlyn, Pillow by Britt-Inger, Pouch by Kimberly
Row 3 (left to right): Birdie Embroidery by Wendy, Evynn pillow by Jenn, pouch by Mari, Tree Skirt by Mary, Autumn pillow by Mary
Row 4 (left to right): Bathmat by Florence, Hexed-in Pillow by Kati, bathmat by Heidi, Hexed-in Pillow by Karen, Cerenjinha by Margarida
It was WAY too difficult to judge the competition ourselves — plus, we didn’t want to be biased towards the projects made from patterns that we each designed! — so we assembled a panel of crazy talented guest judges to do the heavy lifting. They’re bloggers, quilters, designers, authors, shop owners, and (of course) Fat Quarterly readers! We’d like to thank our judges, whose thoughtful evaluation of all of the entries helped us select the winners:
So have we made you wait long enough? Without further ado, we’re pleased to announce the winners of our first Readers’ Competition!
