With 503 fabric fanatics weighing in, the results are in for Region 1! Even this early in the tournament, we’re seeing some very close races. I think that’s an indication that the match-ups will only be getting more intense as Modern Madness progresses. OK, it’s time to pull out your brackets and see how you did …

4 of my favourites won, 4 lost … There really are some surprises, interesting to see how it will go on!
gee – I only got a 4 for the first round – really close though and even harder to choose region 2 fabrics ! of course I had to vote for my favourites even though I’m sure others might win
6 out of 8, not bad!
6 out of 8 for me as well. The next round should be interesting!
6 out of 8, not bad considering I didn’t really know much about the 2 I didn’t get. I think Loulouthi will go the farthest.
I can’t for the life of me understand
a) why you are doing this. It’s cruel and hurtful to the designers who lose, especially when you post the number of votes.
b) how you came up with which fabrics went head to head. I mean you pitted some of the most popular fabrics of the year against each other.
c) I could leave suggestions about a better way to approach this, but sense I don’t endorse it, I won’t.
Thanks, as always, for your feedback, Angela. In the spirit of transparency, I want to let you know that, so far, you are the only — and I quite literally mean the only — person who has given us this type of feedback. Instead, we are hearing a LOT of feedback similar to Hilary’s below: “If you didn’t do this I would never know half of the lines I need to add to my stash because I am in love with them.”
I am not sure how you can presume to speak on designers’ behalf regarding our “cruel and hurtful” activity, but I want to be sure you know that we’ve always let designers know that if they would rather not have their lines represented in Modern Madness, we’d gladly remove them. So far, not one has asked that of us. Rather, I believe the designers quite like the free advertising and promotion that we are providing for their designs, as evidenced by many designers embracing the spirit of the competition and posting about Modern Madness to the blogs, Facebook walls, etc.
We understand that 100% of our readers won’t always like 100% of what we do. Even though Modern Madness may not be for you, it seems via our comments that many more readers are very much enjoying it. We hope we’ll see you back for other Fat Quarterly activities!
6 of 8……….and I have to admit that I’m letting my feel for the underdog guide me in a few of these. Not the way to win, is it?
Woot woot! It’s a sweep! I got all 8!
5/8 for me, perhaps I need not to pick what I like but what I know others like, hmmm
feeling pretty good about my 7 this morning
Now I finally get why people get so excited about their basketball brackets!
Just 5/8 for me. Sorry to see Tilly go so soon. Love that line!
8 of 8 here! YAY!
6 for me!
I got 6 out of 8 but one of my major contenders is already out!
I got 6 out of 8. Not too bad! But one of my wrong picks went pretty far in my bracket. Oh well!
I got 7 out of 8. I am have such a great time seeing all these fabrics. If you didn’t do this I would never know half of the lines I need to add to my stash because I am in love with them.
I wonder if those of us who have 6 of the 8 picked the same ones.
6 out of 8 !
6 out of 8 for me!
8/8 for me:)
I got 6/8 correct. That’s better than my husband does when he plays March Madness, the basketball version!
3/8…Sigh.
6 out of 8 for me
I, too, am sorry that Tilly didn’t make the cut.
This is so fun! It’s interesting to see the results … percentages … etc.
Thanks for doing this.
Yippie 7/8
I got 6 out 8
I’ve gotten a 6. I find it quite hard to believe that Lark eeked it out. There are full bolts untouched around our local shops. Ah well… win some lose some.
Perfect 8 here!!
4 out of 8 for me. I’m fine with that. It just means there is something for everyone out there. On to Round 1, Region 2!
8/8 so far! Now, if I could just parlay these mad skills…
I got 5 out of 8 correct. There is some fabulous fabric coming out! Look out credit card!
I’d like to have all this fabric!
Perfect 8!
California Girl by Fig Tree
I got 7
California Girl by Fig Tree
I love Joanna’s blues, even though I am not a ‘blue person’ fabic wise (and also NOT a smurf) Susan R
I played along last year, but never commented…this is so much fun! I’ve been voting right along, and am coming back to comment. First round – 7 out of 8. I went for Silent Cinema over California Girl, but it was a tough choice.
Whew….7 out of 8! I went for Stitch in Color over Lark.
