Thanks to everyone for your kind & generous comments regarding our big book news.  Now that the cat’s out of the bag, it’s going to be extremely difficult waiting for the actual release date.  Since it’s still a ways away, we figured we’d better get back to business.  That, of course, means readying our upcoming issues (no, sillies — just because we have a book coming out doesn’t mean we’re abandoning our e-zine roots!) and continuing to bring you fresh blog content.

Today we’re sharing our September entry in the Inspiration Theme Mosaic series.  Each month, we challenge our readers with a theme and ask that you submit photos of your crafty projects that best fit that theme to the Fat Quarterly Community & Inspiration photo pool on Flickr.  For September, we asked for photos inspired by the back-to-school season, and we combined your submissions with some of our favorites from around the Flickrverse.  Isn’t it a fun mosaic?

For October, we’re going to do something different.  Rather than a theme or a specific color, we’re asking for photos inspired by a certain color combination.  With the beginnings of autumn upon us here on the east coast of the U.S., my mind is already thinking of the crisp, cool fall air and the upcoming harvest holidays.  I’m inspired by shades of orange and brown, and want you to be too.

So send us your photos that best represent this autumnal palette.  It can be anything, from a crafty project to a stack of fabrics to a photograph that you’ve taken in your travels.  Just visit and join our group, and add your photos there.  We can’t wait to see what you submit!
